Since joining Bitwage, I’ve been working on a deep redesign of the platform to improve usability, consistency, and mobile accessibility. As the only designer on the team, I’ve had the chance to rethink core user flows—like recipients, invoices, payroll, and settings—and to introduce full responsiveness for the first time.
The project included the creation of a flexible design system aligned with our rebrand, along with user analytics and competitive benchmarking to guide design decisions. These changes led to a 30–40% reduction in task completion time for key operations.
Old Dashboard

New Dashboard

Initial Recipients view (pre-redesign)
Siloed state tabs, buried CSV upload and submit buttons, no inline search or global filters, and inconsistent form controls—resulting in high cognitive load and a fragmented, error-prone workflow.

Improved Recipients iteration: Status filters consolidated but still nested, misplaced action buttons in the sidebar, search relegated below the fold, and cramped spacing—some structural clarity gained but core usability issues persist.

Final Recipients view:
Primary “Add Recipients” button inline in the header, unified status filter bar, integrated search & filter controls side-by-side, and consistent spacing, typography & affordances—establishing a clear hierarchy, streamlined flow and minimal cognitive effort.
